Identity verification helps renters and owners trust each other. The check is carried out by Didit, an international identity-verification service, without your having to sign up anywhere outside Vardz.

How it works
- Open the "Trust" tab in your profile and press "Continue with Didit".
- On the Didit page choose your document (for example, a passport, ID card, driving licence or residence permit) and photograph it.
- Take a selfie so your face can be compared with the document.
- You return to Vardz. Once approved, the mark appears on your profile and your profile name becomes the name on the document.
If an attempt does not succeed, you can try again, within a limited number of attempts. If the document already verifies another account, a new attempt is not possible: write to us through the Contact us page.
Your privacy
We do not store documents. Vardz does not keep copies of your documents or photos. Didit processes them: the document and the selfie are kept by Didit (EU, Ireland) for 6 months, so that your identity can be confirmed in a dispute, and are then deleted automatically. We keep: the result (verified or not), the date, the name written on the document, the history of verification attempts and a record of your consent (when, from which IP address and in which browser).
What others see. Other users see the "Identity — Verified" mark, your name with an abbreviated surname ("Name A."), your trust level and your checks. Documents, numbers and photos are never shared with other users.
One document, one account. To prevent duplicate accounts we keep a one-way code of the document's or personal number, from which the number cannot be recovered without our secret key.
With your consent and by law. Data is processed with your consent, in line with the Armenian law on personal data protection. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
